To the Editor:

In response to May Lewin's letter in The Spectrum, dated Friday, April 26, 2013, first let me say this: If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Your statement regarding the clients of Loaves & Fishes Hospitality House might be criminals is just shameful.

There are many families who are having a hard time in this very difficult economic downturn, which we have all felt to some degree.

But to ask to move Loaves & Fishes down the road six miles away from town is an insult.

Why don't you focus your energy on how we as a community can help those in need?

There are those families who are part of our community who need help with meals, or a place to stay that is warm, for those who have lost their homes to foreclosure due to job loss and need help to get back on their feet.

Sending away what you don't like dealing with when it comes to the homeless or the hungry is not the solution.
