The New Milford Relay for Life will offer the first annual cake decorating contest June 18.

Professional and amateur cake decorators are invited to participate, with each being judged separately.

Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, workmanship, degree of difficulty, artistic coordination and overall appearance.

Real cakes or dummies may be used, and must be the sole work of the entrant.

Contestants must provide a 4x6 card with their name, the name of the design and a description of the cake.

The winning design in each of the two categories will received a $100 prize. Remaining proceeds will support the event.

Cakes must be delivered to the Sarah Noble Intermediate School cafeteria June 18 by 3 p.m. Cakes arriving later than 3:30 p.m. will be exhibited by not judged.

The entry fee is $15 for the first entry; $5 for each additional submission.
