- Fairfield resident Amanda Kanaga, formerly senior vice president of digital at Time Inc. Media Group, has joined Westport-based WMI Holdings as senior vice president of digital advertising, a new position. Building on WMI's strengths in social networking, viral marketing, customer relationship management strategies and Web site development, Kanaga will expand WMI's portfolio of digital media partnerships and strategic alliances.
At Time, Kanaga established the Time Inc. Digital Network, giving advertisers access to Time's aggregated online audience of 28 million unique users and providing them with customized media plans.
Previously, Kanaga was vice president of business development at MNI, Time Inc.'s targeted advertising division. During her six years at MNI, Kanaga was responsible for multiplatform and strategic partnership development and for overseeing the company's entry into in-house targeted digital media services.
Kanaga, who also held publisher positions at Norwalk-based Business Journals Inc., has master's and bachelor's degrees from Fairfield University and is a member of the New York Interactive Advertising Club.
- W.R. Berkley Corp., a Greenwich-based insurance holding company in the property-casualty business, announced that Sandra Nelson has been named president of Monitor Liability Managers LLC.
Nelson most recently served as Monitor Liability's executive vice president, and has been with the company since its founding in 1992. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Monitor Liability is an underwriting management company specializing in professional and executive liability insurance.
- Execution LLC, an agency-only global broker-dealer based in Greenwich with an office in New York, has opened a Boston office, and named Boston resident Burr Clark as a European equity salesman.
Clark joins Execution from Merrill Lynch, where he spent 12 years providing European research sales coverage to U.S. institutions, most recently as managing director running European research distribution to Boston-based accounts. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Clark worked in French equity specialist sales at BZW and Lombard Odier in Europe. He has a bachelor's degree from Boston University.
