All-Star Transportation has issued some back-to-school bus safety reminders.

School will start Monday, Aug. 25, in New Milford.

Following are some safety tips:

Watch for children waiting or walking to their bus stops. When you see a bus with its amber lights activated, slow down and prepare to stop.

Never try to pass a bus when its flashing red lights are activated. It's against the law, even on school grounds.

Slow down and use caution near school zones.

Have children ready and waiting at their bus stops 10 minutes prior to their scheduled pick-up times.

Children should wait 10 feet back from the edge of the road at their bus stops.

Most injuries occurring at bus stops are to children struck by cars illegally passing stopped school buses. Stop and wait for stopped school buses.
