Dear Spectrum staff:

Congratulations on your 15th anniversary.

Almost since its inception, I have marveled at the fact you produce a quality paper and send it out free. Each year, I expect an announcement that economics requires a charge.

I very much appreciate the Kent coverage and what a good job Sue Tuz does in keeping up with Kent.

There have actually been a few occasions when she called about things about which I had not yet heard.

As a former coach, I enjoy your coverage of local sports and, as a Washington native, I find I can keep up with happenings in my old hometown.

I appreciate your publication last year of my mom as a sponge target during the Washington Congregational Church fair.

And how about those photos! You must have a really skilled staff photographer.

People in Kent often bemoan the loss of our local paper, the GTD.

While the Spectrum certainly doesn't replace the hometown flavor of the GTD in its heyday, it does a pretty good job for a free publication.

I congratulate all of you for 15 years of quality publishing, and hope you're around for another 15.

Sincerely,

Bruce Adams
