The 60th edition of Bridgewater Country Fair will take place tonight (Friday) through Sunday, Aug. 21, on the grounds behind the firehouse on Route 133 in Bridgewater.

The event, which is expected to draw thousands of patrons from the Greater New Milford area and neighboring towns, is sponsored by the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department.

The fair will be open Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Major fair highlights will include an opening ceremony tonight at 6:30 p.m., followed by a parade at 6:45 p.m.; an antique tractor pull tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.; a garden tractor pull tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.; pedal tractor pulls for children 10 and under tomorrow and Sunday at 11 a.m.; a firemen's muster tomorrow at 11 a.m.; a variety of musical performances throughout the three-day event; and a firemen's raffle.

Admission is $8 for adults and free for children under 12. A three-day pass will be available for $16. Seniors aged 60 and older will be admitted for $5 tomorrow and Sunday.For more information, visit www.bridgewaterfair.com.

FRIDAY, AUG. 19

4 p.m.: Tractor Mac show

5 p.m.: Rides open. Music by Dogwood Chatter featuring Jenna Bollard and Jay Marcovitz at bandstand.

5:30 p.m.: Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show.

6:30 p.m.: Opening ceremonies. Hot dog pig racing.

6:45 p.m.: Parade on Main Street.

SATURDAY, AUG. 20

8:30 a.m.: Sheep judging at sheep tent.

9 a.m.: Junior dairy and beef shows at the south ring. Poultry junior at the poultry tent. Awarding of the trophy for Best Animal in Show.

9:30 a.m.: Children's pet parade at the bandstand area. Must have signed up in advance.

10:30 a.m.: Poultry judging and Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show.

11 a.m.: Pedal tractor pull for children 10 and under at the bandstand area. Firemen's muster.

Noon: Kuykendall Border Collie herding demo at sheep tent. Tractor Mac show. Music by Dogwood Chatter featuring Jenna Bollard and Jay Marcovitz at bandstand.

12:30 p.m.: Hot dog pig racing.
