The After School Arts Program based in Washington, which serves Northwestern Connecticut, will offer a workshop with Joe Bouchard, former bass player of the Blue Oyster Cult band.

The workshop will be held Feb. 23, March 1, 8, 15 and 29 and April 5, 12 and 26 at Shepaug Valley School in Washington.

Bouchard is a founding member of Blue Oyster Cult and has accumulated nine gold and two platinum records during his career.

He retired from the band in 1986 and since then has dedicated most of his time to teaching.

In addition to being a musician, he is a composer, producer and author with a degree in music education from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in music composition from the University of Hartford.

The cost is $72 for Region 12 students and $90 for non-residents.
