Bird walks planned in Sherman

The Connecticut Audubon Society will hold early morning bird walks at Deer Pond in Sherman Oct. 12, 17, 25 and 31 from 8 to 11 a.m.
Participants will explore the trails in search of late songbirds heading south.
The two- to three-mile walks will be held at 57 Wakeman Hill Road and led by Milan Bull, the Connecticut Audubon Society’s senior director of science and conservation, and Cathy Hagadorn, director of Deer Pond Farm.
Participants, who should register at www.ctaudubon.org/deer-pond-farm, are encouraged to bring binoculars and a camera.
All levels of birders are welcome.
The cost is free to CAS members and $5 for non-members.
