Betty Streib, 71, had been a legal secretary
She was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Flushing, Queens, N.Y., to the late Helen (Skoog) and Henry Streib.
She resided in College Point, N.Y., and worked in New York City for many years as a legal secretary before moving to Bantam. While in Bantam, she worked as a legal secretary for a Waterbury law firm, then at Seeley Mattress.
Nine years ago she moved to Torrington, where she was employed at Rite Aid until her retirement.
She volunteered at the Torrington Senior Center.
She is survived by a sister, Linda, and husband Lee Kallstrom, of Kent; a brother, George, and wife Joan Streib, of Washington; three nephews, Steven Kallstrom, of Bridgewater; Brent and wife Carol Kallstrom, of Kent; and Gunnar and wife Athena Kallstrom, of Branford; four nieces, Lori and husband Ray Benderer, of Wingdale, N.Y., Linda and husband James Jorgenson, of Hoboken, N.J., Dawn-Marie and husband Jason Dore, of Reston, Va., and Colleen Johnstone, of Middlebury; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Torrington Senior Center.
A graveside service will take place April 20 at 11 a.m. at Kent Hollow Cemetery in Kent.
The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
