The Merryall Center for the Arts in New Milford will present an evening of music with the Berkshire Big Band June 1 at 8 p.m.

After a year's absence, the 17-piece band, directed by Chip Zellner, will return to the stage.

Players include band directors from Monroe, Newtown and Wilton schools, along with some retired music teachers.

Vocalist Jan Maki, a Nonnewaug High School Music Foundation member, has been with the band since 1998.

Their repertoire includes signature arrangements from the great bands of the 1930 on.

Merryall membership ($150) covers all 2013 performances and members may bring as many guests as they wish at $15 per performance. A subscription ($75) allows attendance at five performances and the ability to attend as many additional performances at $15 each. Individual tickets are $20. All are available at or at the door.
