Kent Memorial Library is exhibiting a collection of books by and about the renowned Edwardian essayist and caricaturist Sir Max Beerbohm.

The books, many of which are first editions, were donated to the

library's summer-long book sale from a private collection and are for sale.

Besides books of verse and essays by Beerbohm, and the 1960 biography by S.N. Behrman, "Portrait of Max," the exhibit also features "A Catalogue of the Caricatures of Max Beerbohm," compiled by Rupert Hart-Davis, with 100 plates of Beerbohm caricatures including Oscar Wilde, Lord Kitchener, King Edward, Sir Arthur Sullivan, Bernard Shaw, J.M. Barrie, Henry James, Joseph Conrad, Yeats, Shakespeare, Whistler and Rodin.
