The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of New Milford will host a Bark for life May 18 in Roxbury.

The event, honoring canine caregivers, will begin at 11 a.m. at Hurlbut Park on Apple Lane.

Registered dogs will receive a free gift.

Anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a Bark for Life bandana for their dog.

Individual walkers and teams are invited to participate.

Registration is $10 in advance and $20 the day of the event.

The Relay For Life will kick off June 15 at 2 p.m.

The overnight event will take place at Sarah Noble Intermediate School on Sunny Valley Road.

This year's theme is hobbies, so participants are invited to set up their sites based on their favorite hobbies.

Last year's event raised more than $60,000 for the American Cancer Society.

This year the Relay for Life of Shepaug Valley and New Milford will team up.
