Barbara Osolin, 83, lived in Kent
Barbara Jane Sandmeyer Osolin, 83, died Feb. 12, 2012, at her home in Kent. She was the wife of the late Ramon (Sonny) Osolin.
Mrs. Osolin was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Cornwall, the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Cora) Sandmeyer.
She spent her early years walking the Popple Swamp Road to elementary school in Cornwall Village. She later graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village.
Mr. and Mrs. Osoin lived on the family farm in Sharon Valley and had three children. In 1963, the family moved to Kent, where she retired from the H. Maimin company.
Playing cards, knitting, bird watching, and making her famous lemonade cake were some of her joys in life. She was known for her sense of humor and keen New England wit.
Mrs. Osolin is survived by two sons, Randy Osolin, and his wife, Karen, of Sharon, and Bruce Osolin, of Goshen; and two grandsons, Kyle and Andrew Osolin, of Glastonbury. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Leo Osolin; three sisters, Pauline Cudlipp, Kathryn Waller and Dorothy Budnick; and a brother Ralph W. Sandmeyer.
A graveside service will be celebrated at Ellsworth Cemetery in the spring.
