Barbara Hendrix, 75, had been an aide

Barbara Anne Hendrix, 75, of Washington Depot, died April 9 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Lynn D. Hendrix.

She was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Howland, Maine, daughter of the late Joseph and Erma Lorette Getchell.

She was a self-employed private duty aide for the elderly for most of her life.

She loved quilting, crocheting and knitting, and enjoyed tag sales.

In addition to her husband of almost 50 years, she is survived by three sons, Wilfred Laplante, of Markle, Ind.; Kevin Laplante, of Mountain Air, N.M., and Bryon Hendrix, of Gaylordsville; four daughters, Darlene Edmonds, of Gardner, Kan.; Laurie Anderson, of Gaylordsville; Robin Hendrix, of Granby; and Cynthia Makuc, of Monterey, Mass.; a brother, Joseph Richards, of Clinton, Maine; three sisters, Bonnie Maltese, of Jessup, Ga., Sherry Prescott, of Clinton; and Nancy Lorette, of Waterville, Maine; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are private.

The Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St. in New Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
