Bank robbery suspect busted on drug charges
A 22-year-old, former Webster Bank teller who is suspected of being an accomplice in a robbery of the bank branch on Main Street a year ago was arrested Jan. 2 on several drug charges.
The arrest was based on an investigation by local detectives and the statewide narcotics task force into the alleged sale of illegal drugs in town, police said.
Serena Viccaro of Heacock-Crossbrook Road was charged with three counts of criminal attempt to commit sale of a controlled substance.
She was released on $25,000 bond for an appearance Tuesday, Jan. 17 in state Superior Court in Bantam.
She is expected Jan. 13 at state Superior Court in Litchfield for a pretrial hearing related to the bank robbery, for which she is accused of two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and two counts of accessory to first-degree robbery.
Preston Hanlon was sentenced in October to a 15-year sentence, suspended after five years and three years of probation for that robbery.
A third suspect in that crime is Micah Thaisz, who is also awaiting a pretrial hearing.
