There's new royalty in New Milford Parks & Recreation's coed slowpitch softball.

B & B Mason Supply claimed the title of king and queen of the eight-team loop Sunday with an 8-1 victory over New Balance of Bethel at Pettibone School's `C' field.

The new champs had earlier in the day dispatched regular-season power Sports Page Cafe, 6-4, in the semifinals while New Balance eliminated Life Is Good, the champs in seven of the league's previous eight seasons, by an 8-1 score.

In the title game, B & B's Derrick Ruotolo and Jason Maxwell combined for seven hits and Collene Gregory added two hits two runs scored and two ribbies.

Shortstop Mark Lyon and first baseman Nicole Cappillino anchored the champs' defense.

Brian Maciel managed two hits for New Balance, whose Mitch Clark exhibited deft `D' on the mound.

During B & B's conquest of Sports Page, Nicole Cappillino, Collene Gregory and Stephanie Dumas swung the big bats.

For the season, B & B and New Balance each finished with an 8-4 record; Sports Page was 10-1 and Life Is Good settled for an 8-3 ledger.
