Award presented to Kent library
Kent Memorial Library has announced it is the recipient of a Connecticut Library Association Award for the fifth time.
The library has been awarded for Outstanding Library Public Relations in the Print Media Category.
The winning materials were the invitation and program for the library’s 2016 annual spring gala.
The graphics were designed by the library’s marketing and special events director, Lucy C. Pierpont.
Pierpont has worked at the Kent Memorial Library for seven years and in graphic design and public relations at Klemm Real Estate, with previous experience at Hartwick College, The Litchfield County Times and her own marketing company based in the Waterbury area.
“We are so proud to continue on this winning streak,” said Library Director Donna Miller.
“Our library is very lucky to have such a talented graphic artist and marketing professional on our staff,” she said.
“For this year’s entry, we took advantage of the lovely South Kent setting with views of the Appalachian Trail silhouetted by the sunset and used stunning photographs,” she said.
More than 300 people attended the event that raised funds to support the operations of the Kent Memorial Library.
The winners of these awards were recognized at the Connecticut Library Association’s annual conference at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton in May.
