BRIDGEWATER — Authorities on Sunday identified the woman who died after her car was submerged in Lake Lillinonah.
Ewa Bielska, 46, of New Milford, was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. Saturday at Danbury Hospital after medical officials were unable to revive her, said Dennis Schain, a spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Bielska was unconscious when divers recovered her and the woman’s 2006 Toyota Scion, officials said Saturday.
Officials said her car plunged into the lake around noon, and it was submerged for more than two hours in 40 feet of water. Emergency crews found the car about 40 yards from the boat launch.
