To the Editor:

Last week's Spectrum introduced the people of Bridgewater to our upcoming candidates in this year's municipal election.

I was disappointed to read Nancy Hawley's comments.

Instead of focusing on issues, she chose to begin her negative attacks. She spoke of conflicts of interest, DEEP investigations, lack of transparency, etc.

What does any of this has to do with her new opponent, Curtis Read?

Bridgewater is a wonderful town, bucolic, alive with volunteerism, well-managed. I would like to know how the candidates plan to continue on this path.

Let's not be duped by negativity and false accusations. Most people in Bridgewater will agree, we are too small and too neighborly to embrace a nasty campaign.

Nancy Hawley has already lost my vote.
