Arts commision issues thanks to community
To the Editor:
As the New Milford Commission on the Arts prepares for the annual Carol Sing on the Green on Monday, the commission wishes to thank the Housatonic Insurance Agency, the Bank Street Theater and the Water Witch Hose Co. #2 for their support and participation.
We also thank Diane Taylor, music teacher at New Milford High School, who will lead members of the high school music department and community participants in carol singing.
All community members are invited to come to this event and enjoy a festive evening of song, refreshments, horse and wagon rides, visits with Santa, and a parade of lights around the Village Green.
The arts commission is proud to support arts programs such as the Carol Sing, the Edwin Kinkade summer Concerts on the Green, and the August Art Walk among other events, and we are grateful to the New Milford community for making these events a success.
As the end of 2017 approaches, the commission also wants to thank Diane Dubreuil, who this year concluded 10 years of dedicated service as chairman of the commission.
What the commission accomplished during these years was due in large part to her wise and skillful overseeing.
She is now focusing her considerable energy on Gallery 25 in the railroad station.
