The Jewish Community Center in Sherman offers a series of “Artful Cooking Together” classes designed to bring parents and children together in the kitchen. The next class is Jan. 13.

The series will teach participants about nutritious foods and how to create delicious dishes.

Each child and adult pair will create seasonal dishes, utilizing fresh ingredients with the assistance of experienced cooks.

At the end of class, participants will sample the food they make.

A photographer will teach how to take photos of the food.

Participants will take home the recipes and photo prints of the dishes they prepared.

The workshop is for children 6 to 16 and a parent or guardian.

Classes at the 9 Route 39 South center (jccinsherman.org) will be offered on the second Saturday of each month: Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

A parent/child pair per class is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
