The Jewish Community Center in Sherman is presenting a series of “Artful Cooking Together” classes designed to bring parents and children together in the kitchen, with the next class Jan. 13.
The series will teach participants about nutritious foods and how to create delicious dishes.
Artful Cooking Together offers families a new way to think, play and create together to promote healthy eating, parent-child connection and sense of family.
Each child and adult pair will create seasonal dishes, utilizing fresh ingredients with the assistance of our experienced cooks.
At the end of class, participants will sample the food they made.
A special guest photographer will teach the group how to take great photos of their food.
Participants will also be able to take home the recipes and photo prints of the dishes that they have prepared.
The workshop is for children ages 6 to 16 and a parent or guardian.
Future classes at the 9 Route 39 South center (jccinsherman.org) will be held on the second Saturday of each month: Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
A parent/child pair per class is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
