The Jewish Community Center in Sherman will present a four-week series of “Artful Cooking Together” classes designed to bring parents and children together in the kitchen beginning Saturday.

The series will teach participants about nutritious foods and how to create delicious dishes.

Artful Cooking Together offers families a new way to think, play and create together to promote healthy eating, parent-child connection and sense of family.

Each child and adult pair will create seasonal dishes, utilizing fresh ingredients with the assistance of experienced cooks.

At the end of class, participants will sample the food they made.

A photographer will teach the group how to take great photos of their food. Participants will take home the recipes and photo prints of the dishes prepared.

The workshop is for children 6 to 16 and a parent or guardian.

The classes at the 9 Route 39 South center (jccinsherman.org) will be offered on the second Saturday of each month: Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

A parent/child pair per class is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
