Armida "Bunny" DePaola Gibson, 89, of Naples, Fla., wife of the late John G. Gibson, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Gibson was born in New York, N.Y., January 20, 1918, daughter of the late Dominick and Concetta (Basile) DePaola. Raised in New York, Mrs. Gibson attended New York schools. A retired beautician, Mrs. Gibson relocated from Naples, Fla. to the area in 2001 to make her home with her family. She loved reading, cooking, walking, and the outdoors. Her zest for life was obvious to all who knew her, and she was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield. A daughter, Beverly Gibson Crowe and her husband William of Danbury; a son, Wayne J. Gibson New Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Florence Gioia of Bethpage, L.I. N.Y., and Ida Pinto of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.; four granddaughters, Meredith Langhorst, MD, Shannon Crowe, Kelly Crowe and Kimberly Crowe; a great-grandson, Kade Langhorst; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins, survive Mrs. Gibson. A sister, Victoria Gioia predeceased Mrs. Gibson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
