Area voters prepare to cast budget ballots

A decision will be reached on a proposed $91.427 million budget for a 2.32 percent increase over the current year. Referendum voting will be held May 18 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following polling sites:
District 1 -- Northville Elementary School, 22 Hipp Road;
District 2 -- East Street School, 50 East St.;
District 3 -- John Pettibone School, 2 Pickett District Road;
District 4 -- Gaylordsville firehouse, 700 Kent Road (Route 7);
District 5 -- Schaghticoke Middle School, 23 Hipp Road;
District 6 -- Hill & Plain Elementary School, 60 Old Town Park Road;
District 7 -- Sarah Noble Intermediate School, 25 Sunny Valley Road.
The proposed $7.06 million budget at 4.08 percent increase over present year will come to public hearing May 7 at 7 p.m. at Burnham School.

A proposed $10.64 million budget, up $82,971 over the present year but a mil rate decrease to 14.02 mills, will come to public hearing May 7 at 8 p.m. at town hall.

A proposed $9.34 million budget, down 2.27 percent under the present year will come to a town meeting for budget vote May 18 at 7 p.m. at town hall.
A proposed $12.4 million budget at a 5.31 percent increase over the present year and vote on $2.9 million appropriation to purchase Happy Acres Farm will come to referendum May 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at Sherman School.
A proposed $4.65 million budget at a 5.8 percent increase over the present year will come to public hearing May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at town hall on Sackett Hill Road.

A proposed $14.15 million budget, down .1 percent from the present year, will come to public hearing May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Bryan Memorial Town Hall.

Region 12 school budget
A proposed $20,792,885 budget, up 1.1 percent over the present year, and a vote on a $2.3 million bonding package for repairs to the three elementary schools will come to referendum May 4 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Bridgewater at the Senior Center, in Roxbury at the town hall and in Washington at Bryan Memorial Town Hall.
