Appreciate support for 'Cold Homes' benefit walk
To the editor:
Thanks to local generosity, fewer households in New Milford will be faced with foregoing groceries or other basic necessities in order to stay warm this winter.
The small, but mighty turnout Jan. 13 for the second annual "Cold Homes, Warm Hearts" Walk for the Community Fuel Bank yielded more than $5,000, which, when combined with our sponsors and other individual contributors, totals more than $28,000 raised thus far.
Bravo, community. With many thousands of dollars in federal cuts again this year, these funds are dearly needed.
The United Way Youth Leadership group had awesome energy leading the walkers.
Judge of Probate Marty Landgrebe greeted all with a smile as crossing guard, and Jeanne DiGiacomo did a great job starting us with a "bang."
Thank you one and all.
