Holy Trinity Church in Sherman in Sherman Center will kick off its 26th annual Appalachian Craft Fair July 8 from noon to 6 p.m.

The fair will also be open July 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 10 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Sherman Center church.

The fair features traditional hand-woven baskets and stools; hand-quilted bed quilts, table runners and placemats; dolls, wooden utensils and toys; stained glass; hand thrown pottery; jewelry and more.

Appalachian crafters who created the items, and who are struggling to make ends meet, are expected to receive 100 percent of the sales. The proceeds are often used to buy heating oil, make needed home repairs, purchase hearing aids, eye glasses or dental work, support college education or purchase new shoes.
