Albin J. Drost, 89, lived in New Milford

Albin J. Drost, 89, of New Milford, formerly of Beacon Falls, N.Y., died May 21 at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford.
He was the widower of Henrietta J. (Kremski) Drost.
Mr. Drost was born Oct. 15, 1922, in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Siroka) Drost.
He was a Beacon Falls resident for 62 years and retired after 35 years of service from the Bristol Co.
Mr. Drost served in the U.S. Army with the 28th Division during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
He was a communicant of St. Michael Church and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Sullivan and her husband, Thomas Sullivan, of Middletown; Marianne Drost of Greenwich; Albin Drost and his wife, Catherine Drost, of Hampton Cove, Ala.; Elizabeth Drost and her husband, Glenn Macklin, of Wyncote, Pa.; and Dr. Paul Drost and his wife, Dr. Wendy Drost, of New Milford; seven grandchildren, Megan Sullivan and her husband, Cory Skolnick, Travis Drost, Alix and Sloane Macklin, and Michael, Ryan, and Carly Drost; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Cate Skolnick; and several nieces and nephews.
The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
