More than 500 Greater New Milford area men and women will compete this season in New Milford Parks & Recreation's 48th season of slowpitch softball.

The season will start Monday with games scheduled at Young's Field's 'D' and 'E' fields.

Thirty-six men's teams will compete in North, South and East and West divisions during a regular season stretching into early August. Playoffs then will determine divisional champions.

Eight women's teams will battle into August for their title.
