Ada White, 92, had family in area towns

Ada Lilly White, 92, of Brookfield, formerly of Bethel, died Feb. 27, 2011, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John C. White Jr.

Mrs. White was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Bethel, daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Weston) Schofield.

A lifelong resident of Bethel, she attended the Grassy Plain School and spent her life as a devoted mother and homemaker.

Mrs. White was a resident of Brookfield for the past 15 years.

She was a longtime active member of the Georgetown Bible Church, where she also taught Sunday school.

Mrs. White is survived by four sons, Michael White, of Brookfield, John White III, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Benjamin White, of New Milford, and Wilbur White, of Bethel; three daughters, Jeanie Hoyenski, of South Kent, Varina Anthony, of Angier, N.C., and Linda Monroe, of Bethel; two sisters; three brothers; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
