AWS to present 'Seniors For Seniors' talk

Animal Welfare Society in New Milford will present “Seniors For Seniors” Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Roxbury Senior Center on South Street.

A snow date of Jan. 17 is planned.

The talk will address Animal Welfare Society’s role and mission, aging in place with pets, and how to get help when living situations change and pets must be offered to another home.

Speakers will also discuss the shelter’s senior cats and dogs that are adoptable under the senior companion discount program.

A special visit by Tucker, a standard poodle therapy dog, and his owner Jane Hellman, will be featured during the presentation.

This program, underwritten by the Connecticut Community Foundation, is the second in a series AWS will bring to senior centers in our area.
