The Animal Welfare Society of New Milford will host its 10th annual Dog Days of Summer Sept. 27.

The event, which is open to all dog owners, friends and friendly dogs on non-retractable leashes, will be held at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $3 per person or $5 for a family.

AWS, which serves the towns of Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Milford, Roxbury and Washington, holds Dog Days as a day of fun for the family and as a fundraiser for the animals cared for by the nonprofit organization.

The event will feature numerous booths and local vendors, and items will be available for purchase for both pets and people.

Attractions include food booths, a freestyle frisbee demo, a police dog demo, an agility demo and try-it, a fly-ball demo and try-it, and a lure course demo and try-it.

There will also be a parade of rescue dogs, canine good citizen testing, a face-painting booth and games for owners and their dogs.
