ASAP to hold summer camp

The After School Arts Program based in Washington, which serves northwest Connecticut, is accepting registration for its 2013 summer camp.

The camp, open to children aged 4½ to 14, will run Aug. 5-16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Washington Montessori School at 240 Litchfield Turnpike in Washington.

Divided into eight groups based upon age, campers will participate in workshops on visual arts, creative writing, dance, drama, music, photography, textile arts, circus arts, magic arts and costume making, as well as projects such as building a geodesic dome and fantasy structures.

Participants will attend performances by creative professionals, and then put on a performance of their own.

The cost is $650 and includes all materials. Financial aid is available.
