To the Editor:

On July 23, Washington Depot was buzzing with excitement as After School Arts Program volunteers sang along to Broadway musical tunes from “Hamilton” while washing cars to raise funds to send those in need to ASAP camp, which runs through Aug. 12.

The event raised more than $700.

ASAP is providing more scholarships than ever before for children in need.

Our immediate goal is to raise $30,000 to help cover costs for more than 50 children to attend our two-week full-day camp.

Every child should have the chance to be in a creative, safe and fun environment that is inspiring.

At ASAP we never turn a child away. We depend on support from our generous donors and grants to ensure that all children can participate in our creative arts programs.

ASAP would like to thank the Washington Town Hall, Washington Supply and all the volunteers for making the car wash such a success and for making a difference in a child’s life.
