William H. Knox, 65, of New Fairfield, died suddenly Aug. 16, 2009. He was the husband of Kathleen (Begley) Knox,

Mr. Knox was born March 25, 1944, in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late John and Marie (Sullivan) Knox. He was a graduate of Fordham Prep, Fordham University and Iona College.

Mr. Knox worked for many years for the New York City Board of Education and most recently retired from AT&T in White Plains., N.Y.

He enjoyed his retirement by fishing in Candlewood Lake and preparing special meals and baked goods for his family.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen, of 42 years, he is survived by two sons, William Knox and his wife, Mary, of Bridgewater and Geoffrey Knox of Candlewood Knolls, New Fairfield; a grandson, John Patrick Knox; a sister, Marie Knox,of New Fairfield; two brothers, Grannell Knox and his wife, Irene, and their son, Grannell Jr., of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and John Knox and his wife, Beverly, of Cape Cod, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Anne C. Knox.

There are no calling hours.

The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
