DANBURY — A driver fled the scene of an accident on West Street late Wednesday morning, leaving an SUV with heavy front-end damage.

Police responded to 65 West Street a little before 11 a.m. and found a Honda CRV with heavy front-end damage. The occupants of the CRV were medically evaluated at the scene.

A witness said the vehicle that fled the scene looked like “an early model red/maroon Pontiac Vibe or something similar.”

Police reported last seeing the vehicle heading westbound toward Division Street.

Danbury police were not immediately available for comment or more information.

The Honda CRV was towed from the scene around 11:20 a.m.
