SHERMAN — Traffic was detoured around Route 37 east of Hubbell Mountain Road for several hours Monday for a downed tree on wires.

The Sherman Resident Trooper announced the road closure around 8:15 a.m.

By 2:10 p.m., one lane of traffic had been opened and motorists were advised to use caution and slow down in the area as crews worked to clear the mess.

The entire road was expected to reopen by 3 p.m.
