TheatreWorks New Milford will open its production of the musical comedy "Avenue Q" Sept. 19 at 8 p.m.

Following opening night, the play will be staged Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. through Oct. 18, as well as Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and Oct. 12 at 2 p.m.

Filmmaker and master puppeteer Roberto Ferreira, co-founder of the Puppet School of San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, recently visited the theater to prep the cast on the finer points of puppeteering for the premiere of the show.

The cast will feature residents of the Greater New Milford region and beyond.

The play is under the direction of Bradford Blake and the musical direction of Charles Smith.

Tickets are $28. Students and military personnel with ID will be admitted for $25. A pay-what-you-can-night will be held Sept. 25 at 8 p.m.

Parking for the theater is available behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building off East Street.
