-Tyler Ortiz has been recognized as a 2009 ESA Foundation Scholarship recipient. He is one of 30 students across the nation to receive the scholarship.
-Anita Shah was one of several students at Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury recently recognized for outstanding accomplishments in the study of foreign language at the school's annual national foreign language induction ceremony.
-Sara Yanarella is serving this academic year as the music director for Susquehanna University's student-run radio station, WQSU-FM 88.9, "The Pulse," in Pennsylvania.
WQSU-FM is a licensed, non-commercial, public radio station serving the central Susquehanna Valley. It is the third most powerful college radio station and the 10th most powerful non-commercial station in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Yanarella, a senior, is majoring in communications with an emphasis in broadcasting. She is a 2006 graduate of New Milford High School and the daughter of Susan Yanarella of Sherman and Philip Yanarella of Beacon.
-During The Gunnery's recent convocation to welcome students, the highest scholars were named for the 2008-09 school year. In addition, the top school scholars at the school were named.
Charlotte Carew-Miller, daughter of Chapin Miller and Anna Carew Miller and great-great-great granddaughter of Frederick Gunn, founder of The Gunnery, was among the students who received awards for her achievements as a top scholar of her respective class last year.
