NEW MILFORD — The New Milford 12U softball team continued its quest toward the Babe Ruth World Series on Saturday, winning a pair of games to advance to Sunday’s final day.

The Chaos topped a pair of clubs from New Hampshire — Litchfield 9-2 and Barrington 13-2 — to advance to the regional semifinals that begin at 10 a.m. New Milford will need to win its loser’s bracket final in order to get another shot at undefeated Pittsfield, Mass., a team the Chaos would have to defeat twice to win the title.

Against Litchfield, Allison Neak threw five innings of four-hit ball, striking out nine. Meaghan Sheedy had a bases-clearing triple in the win. Neak had two hits for the Chaos as well.

Sydney Scalzo and Kyleigh Stellato combined to toss a three-hitter to beat Barrington. Sheedy had two hits while Charlie Vaughey, Neak, Scalzo and Sheedy each scored two runs.

New Milford’s 10U team will also compete for the New England title on Sunday.
