Seniors welcome to elder abuse seminar in Kent
The Northwest Corner Triad, a nonprofit organization for seniors, will soon host a presentation on how to recognize, prevent and report elder abuse.
The event will take place Oct. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard.
A panel of speakers will include Laura Snow, program director of the Center for Elder Abuse Prevention at Jewish Senior Services in Fairfield; Sandra Calogero, branch manager of Webster Bank in Kent; and Raymond Zalaski of the Department of Social Services in Torrington.
Part of a nationwide network, Northwest Corner Triad fosters partnerships among law enforcement, senior groups and community businesses by offering educational resources to enhance the safety and well-being of older individuals.
Towns encompassed by the chapter include Kent, Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Goshen, Lakeville, Norfolk, Salisbury and Sharon.
The free workshop, co-sponsored by the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce and Webster Bank, will offer light refreshments.
