BRIDGEWATER SENIOR CENTER
Mondays: Closed unless a special event is offered.
Tuesdays: Computer Group, 10 a.m. Dawn MacNutt visits, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Silver Needles (quilters), 1-4 p.m. VNA blood pressure (second Tuesday each month), 1-2 p.m.
Wednesdays: Tai chi, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mah jongg, 1-4 p.m. (call to confirm dates).
Thursdays: Coffee hour, 10:30 a.m. (unless special event is planned).
Fridays: Poker, 10 a.m. Canasta, 1 p.m.
Trips are open to non-Bridgewater residents.
Ancestry help: Thursdays, Jan. 23-June. With Ed Wainwright and Holly Azavedo. Available by appointment. $10 one-time fee.
Program about veterans benefits: Jan. 27, 10:30 a.m. With Jo Buchheit, Bridgewater's Veterans Administration liaison.
Bingo: Feb. 6, 1 p.m. $1 for first card, 50 cents per additional card.
Valentine lunch: Feb. 13, noon. Features chicken piccata and music by Broadway producer John Flaxman on piano.
Birthday social: Feb. 20, 1 p.m.
Future programs: The center is working on a program by the New Milford VNA; scams, presented by the town's state trooper; memory, presented by Dr. Susann Varano; and a talk by the state of Connecticut Jury Outreach Program.
Travel Group: One-day and overnight trips are planned. Day trips include visits to the Goodspeed Opera House, with lunch on Lady Katherine, Thimble Island; the 9/11 Memorial; the Pumpkin Festival in Keene, N.H.; and Mystic Seaport. Overnight trips include visits to Quebec City and Montreal, and the Biltmore Estates and Great Smokies.
Senior van: Available Mondays-Fridays. Call for details.

KENT SENIOR CENTER

Tuesday: ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out), 8:30 a.m., the Villager Restaurant, Main Street, newcomers are welcome.

Hand/chair massage: Third Wednesday each month, 1:15 p.m. $10/10-minute massage.
Blood pressure screening: First Wednesday each month, 1-2 p.m. With New Milford Visiting Nurse Association.
Wellness clinic: Third Tuesday, 10-11 a.m. Provided by Salisbury Visiting Nurse Association. Features blood pressure, heart rate and pulse oximetry measurements, review of medications, health teaching specific to one's medical condition, as well as a clinic on a specific health topic related to the time of year. Bus to Torrington: Second Tuesday of each month for shopping, lunch and medical appointments, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Torrington. Offered by the Northwest Connecticut Transit District. Appointments should be made between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. by calling 866-906-7433.
Senior suppers: Daily, 4-6 p.m. At New Milford Hospital, 21 Elm St., $5. Senior supper card required; cards available through the Park and Rec office. Reservations are required by the day before at 2 p.m. by calling 860-210-7470.
Volunteer openings at Kent Senior Center: Community volunteers are needed to assist with the Elderly Nutrition Program Mondays and Wednesdays at the Kent Senior Center, Swifts Lane.
