The town of Roxbury will honor its volunteers with a Sunday, Sept. 15 picnic at 12:30 p.m. at Hurlburt Community Park along West Apple Lane.

In observance of the 300th anniversary of the Hurlbut family settling in Roxbury, Peter and Betty Hurlbut will be honored for their volunteer contributions to the town.

Martha "Muffie" Munson and Robert "Bucky" Lowe, who is retiring as selectman after 16 years, will also be honored for their contributions.

The official program, led by First Selectman Barbara Henry, will begin at 1 p.m.

The event will feature music, remarks, presentations and soloist Kimberlee Baron, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and salads.

All Roxbury residents are welcome.
