Roxburians encouraged to recognize Patriot Day on Sept. 11

The town of Roxbury will recognize Patriot Day Sept. 11 with the tolling of the church bells at the Congregational Church and Christ Episcopal Church.

The bells will ring for one minute at 9:43 and 10:10 a.m., followed by a townwide moment of silence in remembrance of the lives of the men and women who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Town hall, senior center and library employees and Booth Free School students will step outside near their respective building's flagpole.

Flags will be flown on North Street.

The Board of Selectmen requests residents do a good deed that day in honor and memory of the people who lost their lives that day.
