Residents invited to drop off bulky waste

A free bulky waste drop-off for New Milford residents only will be held July 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Patriot's Way near the railroad station in New Milford.

Proof of residency will be required.

There is no limit to the number of items that may be dropped off, or the number of trips a resident can make to the site.

Due to the inability of the Department of Environmental Protection to provide the necessary instruction for electronic recycling (e-cycling) by their date of July 1, Public Works will collect electronics free of charge July 18 during the bulky waste drop-off only.

Items not dropped off that day may be taken to the Recycling Center on Young's Field Road, where drop-off fees may apply.

Public Works reminds residents that the free event is for bulky waste. Other items may continue to be dropped off at the Recycling Center.

A hazardous waste day will be held in the fall. More details will be published in The Spectrum in the coming weeks.
