Ralph Eugene Williams Sr., 85, of New Milford, died Aug. 29, 2009, at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Hazel (Allinger) Williams.

He was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Stamford, son of the late David and Mabel (Walters) Williams.

Mr. Williams was a veteran of World War II.

He spent more than 50 years in the auto collision repair business, 35 years of which he worked with his two sons at R. Williams Co. Auto Body in Danbury.

Besides his wife of 60 years, Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Ralph E. Williams Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of New Milford, and Robert Williams of New Fairfield; three grandchildren, Ralph E. Williams III and his wife, Priscilla, Amy Brooks and her husband, Jonathan, and Ashley Williams; a great-granddaughter, Emma Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
