The Pratt Nature Center in New Milford has announced its upcoming programs.

They include a vacation day camp Jan. 20 and Feb. 17-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($45/member each day; $50/non-member each day); winter bird walk and feeder making workshop for kids ages 6 and older Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon ($10/child); a full moon hike for all ages Feb. 14 (bring flashlight); a free Great Backyard Bird Count event Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon (bring cameras and binoculars); and spring camp April 14-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($45/member; $50/non-member).

In addition, the New Milford Public Library and the center will co-host a screening of "DIRT," which tells the story of humans trying to reconnect to dirt, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at the library on Main Street.

Also, a homeschool nature series for kids ages 6-12 will be held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the coming weeks.

Participants may sign up for one multi-week course or all four.

Courses will include "The Mind and Movement of Animals" Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26; "How We Stay Warm" March 5, 12, 19 and 26; "Birds and Buds" April 2, 9, 23 and 30; and "Spring Things" May 7, 14, 21 and 28.

The cost is $175 for one month per child.

In other news, the center will accept registration for its summer camp beginning Feb. 15 for members and March 1 for non-member.
