Playground equipment makes its exit from schools

Changes are coming to elementary school playgrounds in New Milford.
Equipment is being removed from Northville School and could possibly be removed from Hill and Plain.
At Northville, a galvanized slide was to be removed due to concerns about an exposed lip at the top where a child's foot could be caught and because of its exposed concrete footings.
A wooden tripod climbing structure will also be removed due to fraying edges that could hook on a child's clothing.
At Hill and Plain, a 40-foot long hill slide may be removed.
The slide is not being used and removing it would require monitoring of the site by Iroquois Gas because the slide is sited on an Iroquois gas easement.
