NEW MILFORD — With Fourth of July fireworks put away and a few more weeks left to wear white before Labor Day, the town is preparing for their next holiday: the winter carnival.

New Milford is hosting their winter carnival on the town green on Saturday, July 24, while downtown merchants offer “Christmas in July” deals.

The town has advertised the event on Facebook as “‘holiday’ fun for the whole family!”

The annual “Christmas in July” store deals will start on Friday and carry on through Saturday. Local businesses have been advertising their deals on social media sites leading up to the event.

The carnival event, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office, will be free of charge and offer games and activities for kids from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
