The New Milford Veterans Committee will hold a Veterans Day ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. on the south end of the Village Green.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony would be held at the VFW on Avery Road.

Residents and veterans are asked to gather on the Green at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony will include an opening prayer by Daniel A. Sullivan Jr., the National Anthem sung by Curtis Thompson, the placing of wreaths, remarks by VFW Commander James DeLancy, and a message from organizations by Matthew Hayes.

Words will be offered by guests Mayor Pat Murphy, State Representative Clark Chapin (R-67th) and Soldier On representative Michael Hagmaier.

"God Bless America" will be sung by Cathy Reynolds and POW/MIA representative Kathy Shemeley will deliver a message.

"Amazing Grace" willl then be performed by Patrick Maguire and a closing prayer and rifle salute with "Taps" will conclude the ceremony.
